Massive FIFA World Cup rally planned for Canada fans in Toronto park

The FIFA World Cup in Toronto reaching climactic hype, and now it's time to get behind Canada's team and celebrate.

Before Canada takes on Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday afternoon, the team's official supporters group, The Voyageurs, will host a pre-game rally and fan march from Trinity Bellwoods Park to Toronto Stadium.

If you're unfamiliar with The Voyageurs, they are Canada's official grassroots supporters group, known for travelling around the world to back the men's and women's national teams.

The rally at Trinity Bellwoods will begin around 10:30 a.m., with the march departing down Strachan Ave. at 11 a.m. The route will run south and pass through Princes' Gates and toward Toronto Stadium.

The Voyageurs said to blogTO that all fans are welcome to join the pre-game festivities, but on two conditions: "wear red, and be loud."

Schedule of The Voyageurs events:

10:30 a.m. — Arrive at Trinity Bellwoods Park
11:00 a.m. — Canada march departs down Strachan Ave.
3:00 p.m. — Kickoff
6:00 p.m. — Post-game at The Rhino Bar & Grill (1249 Queen St. W)

If you're heading to Trinity Bellwoods, expect to learn all the Canada soccer chants and meet supporters who've travelled from across the country to cheer on the red and white.

Whether you've got tickets to the match or you're planning to watch at the official FIFA Fan Festival, the rally is a fun way to kick off World Cup fever ahead of Canada's lone Toronto game in this tournament.
