tech jobs toronto

Tons of major social media companies are hiring in Toronto right now

Though Toronto's notoriously thriving tech-sector may have cooled down a bit, there are still tons of huge firms that have decided to call Toronto home in the last year, and are alive, well and still very much hiring.

If you're less interested in working for something like a software company and more into getting in with some of the biggest names in the social media app world, there at a number of them with open positions in Toronto right now.

Here are a few:

TikTok

In case you weren't aware, TikTok has had a presence in Toronto since it started really blowing up in late 2020, with a Liberty Village office that is currently hiring for jobs ranging from artist and label community manager to client solutions planner or manager to brand partnerships manager — they even have two internships available, one in sales and one in strategy.

Reddit

Reddit has a subreddit for every topic you could think of and a thread for any question you could ask, and is a great place for chatting with like-minded people if you want to get involved in virtually any community.

They're looking for more personnel to populate their Toronto office than any other brand on this list — among the dozens of open positions are multiple different types of of engineer, data scientists, sales and engineering managers, client partners and more.

Meta

Regardless of how big TikTok is with the Gen Zs, Facebook is still on top of the game when it comes to social media platforms, and also has big plans to expand with thousands more  jobs at a new Toronto hub in the coming years.

For now, Meta only has one role open in the 6ix — for a software engineer — but be sure to keep an eye on its career page for more to come.

Twitter

Twitter has been testing a variety of different features lately to grow with its audience, and you can be a part of its continued trajectory by applying for roles like staff software engineer, machine learning engineer, and senior project manager.

Their T.O. office is pretty damn cool, too.

Pinterest

Pinterest staff just moved into a snazzy new Toronto space on Richmond Street this spring, with the city's office being its first engineering hub outside of the U.S.

The social media and visual discovery app is currently hiring here for jobs like partner manager (beauty), software engineer (shopping content mining) and auto and travel account manager.

Snapchat

Snapchat is known for having some pretty amazing work perks, from full medical and dental for employees and their dependents, an RRSP matching program, and unbelievable parental benefits like 26 weeks leave and tens of thousands available for surrogacy, fertility and adoption-related expenses.

Like Meta, they are only looking to fill one job in the city right now, for an account manager, but they are known to hire often.
