New fashion app lets users upload outfits, style ideas

Mobile apps continue to be the start-up ventures of choice for Toronto entrepreneurs. One of the latest additions to the roster comes out of the Ryerson DMZ. Released to the iTunes store just this week, WhatImWear.in is a fashion app that lets users take photos of what they're wearing, tag the photos with brand names and other details and scour the app for interesting looks uploaded by other users.

The app has a three person team behind it led by Monica Mei who previously founded the fashion label Aime Luxury. The Android version has actually been available for a while (but they're not disclosing download stats) and a Blackberry version is also in the works. I connected with Mei last week who told me that upcoming versions of the app will let users tag beauty features (face, hair, nails) and attach YouTube links to How To beauty videos.

The app went from concept to release in about 10 month. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments below.
