Toronto Raptors hosting first-ever 'Fan Day' where you can meet players
The Toronto Raptors are planning to have what sounds like an amazing fan experience in just over two weeks.
The Raptors are preparing for what they are calling "Raptors Fan Day." The inaugural event is set to take place on Saturday, February 1 from noon to 2 p.m. at Scotiabank Arena. It is a celebration of the organization's 30th anniversary and will give fans all sorts of unique experiences.
"Raptors fans are the best in the league — we feel your passion, support, energy and dedication every time we step on the court," said head coach Darko Rajakovic. "This very first Raptors Fan Day is a chance for us to show our appreciation, to connect with you in a new way, and have some fun on a February Saturday afternoon."
The event will feature on-court contests where 100 fans will have the opportunity to compete for prizes. It will also feature Raptors players competing in a feature showcase against each other in different skill and drills challenges.
Fans will have the chance to be selected for meet and greets with several Raptors players. Also in attendance will be notable alumni, who fans will have the opportunity to meet.
The Larry O'Brien trophy will be at the event, with select fans getting the chance to take a photo with the NBA's championship trophy.
The Raptors, who are in a rebuilding phase, are having a rough season with a 9-31 record. That said, they have plenty of skill on their roster, including one of the game's best young talents, Scottie Barnes. Other impressive names include RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, as well as 21-year-old Grady Dick.
There will be plenty more at this upcoming fan event, including team merchandise being sold for 20 per cent off.
Those interested in attending Raptors Fan Day can purchase tickets for as low as $25.
