Start your engines! The Honda Indy returns to Toronto this weekend, and here's everything you need to know about it, from the day-to-day schedule to road closures you should avoid.

The weekend will be jam-packed with races, events and fan service, all leading up to the title race on Sunday, giving Toronto Indy fans the experience of a lifetime right here at home.

Here's everything you should know about the upcoming festival.

Event schedule

Over the course of the weekend, nine different races will be held at the Exhibition Grounds before the main event — the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy, which is taking place at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 21.

The festival all kicks off when the gates open at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, followed by a series of autograph signings as the marquee events throughout the afternoon, held at the Enercare Centre.

You'll also be able to catch practices and qualifying races for the Radicals Cup, USF2000, USF Pro 2000 and Sports Car Championship Canada on the track throughout the day before the first race of the Radicals Cup hits the pavement at 5:10 p.m.

On Saturday, the first official race of the day is race one for the Sports Car Championship Canada at 11:45 a.m., followed by race one for USF2000 at 12:40 p.m., race two of the Radicals Cup at 1:40 p.m. and, finally, race two for USF Pro 2000 at 4:30 p.m.

Sunday is the big day! The gates open early at 7:30 a.m. in time for an 8 a.m. start for race two of USF2000, promptly followed by USF Pro 2000 at 8:50 a.m.

Race two of Sports Car Championship Canada then hits the track at 10:50 a.m., followed by the Radicals Cup final at 12:40 p.m., player introductions for the Honda Indy beginning at 12:40 and then the big race tears onto the track at 1:30 p.m.

Through the duration of the festival, there will also be plenty happening around the track to keep you busy, like beer gardens, food vendors, immersive activities and interactive displays all to be explored when you attend.

Street closures

The major street closures for the 2024 Honda Indy Toronto Race will be rolling out starting on Wednesday, July 17, until after the final race is held at the end of the weekend.

Starting at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, Strachan's southbound lanes will be closed between Fleet Street and Lakeshore West.

Later, at 8 p.m., Lakeshore West will close between Strachan and British Columbia Ave.

Both roads will remain closed for the duration of the festival, reopening at 11 p.m. on Sunday, July 21.
