Early September in the city can only mean one thing: the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is back again. And the programming just got a lot more exciting for 2024.

Brought to you by FanDuel, you can now predict and bet on film winners for several festival circuit awards! FanDuel shares the actual odds on TIFF prizes, giving fans an analytic spin on their favourite flicks.

It's as easy as it sounds. Put on your critic's hat, come up with your best picks for winners in three Outright People's Choice Award categories (People's Choice, Documentary Award, and, Midnight Madness), and you could be celebrating your best TIFF ever!

Available exclusively in Ontario, this is a new low-stakes experience that takes movie-watching one step higher. Ready for more? Here are some titles you should check out at TIFF this year and maybe even consider for top-dog predictions.

The Substance

Up for the gold in the Midnight Madness category (best action, shock, horror, or fantasy), The Substance stars Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley as two duelling clones of the same woman - years apart in age.

It's making its North American premiere at the TIFF 2024, but this body-horror flick is already making waves after winning at the Cannes Film Festival this summer.

Can The Substance repeat its French victory? That's up to you to decide!

Conclave

Ready to enjoy a little bit of Roman Catholic drama? Conclave follows a hectic three-day frenzy where Cardinals descend on Vatican City to elect a new Pope after his untimely death.

Oscar-nominated actors Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci lead the charge of this papal spectacle, making it a heavy-hitter in the People's Choice Award Winner category.

A Sister's Tale

A raw and provoking tale of pure courage, A Sister's Tale tracks director Leila Amini's sister on her journey to become a singer in Iran, where women are banned from performing in public.

The duo's lives are laid bare over seven years of filming, creating a powerfully moving and inspiring piece of cinema. Opening for its International Premiere in the Outright People's Choice Documentary Award category, be sure to grab the tissues for A Sister's Tale.
