Souv Like is a takeout joint for souvlaki and other traditional Greek food dishes. 

Tony Rexhepaj opened the restaurant in 2017. He had owned small restaurants with his two brothers in Greece before moving to Canada a decade ago. 

Souv Like gets most of its business from the foot traffic in the Danforth and Pape area. It's busiest during the dinner hour when people are looking to get a quick bite after work. 

There's a tight row of seats around the corner from the entrance if you want to stay and eat, but this is more of a grab-and-go spot. 

Thick slabs of chicken and pork are stacked and cooked in vertical rotisseries allowing their exposed surfaces to get hot and crispy.

The counter fridge is packed with containers of fresh-cut vegetables and moist feta cheese. 

The Gyro Poutine (small $11.50, large $19) tops a heavy helping of fries with gyro meat and pipping hot cheddar cheese. The box is finished with chipotle mayonnaise and a dash of paprika. 

Every forkful has crispy bits of roasted meat and fries that sop up all the salty goodness from the copious amounts of cheese and mayo. It's a nice change from the gravy that traditionally tops poutine. 

For a fresher option, try the Village Salad (small, $14.50 large, $18).

Also known as Horitiki, it combines chunks of tomato with cucumber, sliced green peppers and white onions, and is finished with Kalamata olives, parsley and feta cheese.

I like the contrast of the juicy tomatoes that come alive with the salty olives and savoury flavours of the feta. 

The Souvlaki Chicken ($4.50) is an affordable and filling option that wraps souvlaki chicken in a grilled pita with red onion, tomato, cucumber, tzatziki sauce and a handful of french fries.Souv Like has a variety of dinner combos, including this Mix Gyro Dinner ($23). It's a pretty straightforward option with all the fixings: protein, greens and carbs. 

The spread features gyro meat (beef and pork) that's accompanied by french fries and a salad made from sliced cucumber, tomato and crumbled feta. It's sided by tzatziki sauce and chipotle mayonnaise.

Souv Like's vibrant exterior can be seen from Pape subway station which is located steps away from the restaurant.
