Short Turn
Short Turn is a snack bar on Queen West from the same owners of 416 Snack Bar.
Here, co-owners Adrian Ravinsky and Dave Stewart are joined by Taylor Lackie in this latest venture that's located just around the corner on Queen Street from the original 416 location.
Offering a mix of drinks and snacks, the new room is meant to feel like a streetcar ride on a vintage streetcar (the model that was retired from the system in 2019).
It's a romantic, dimly lit space for sipping on crafted cocktails like a Bitter Julep or Spicy Margarita.
Chef Dustin Gallagher is at the kitchen’s helm and behind the menu that both reprises a selection of 416 favourites like the eggplant double down ($6) and KFC ($9) but has also added unique-to-location items. You can expect items like freshly shucked oysters (starting at $22) to steak tartare ($9) plus daily specials that might feature salmon (market price).
There are also spicy tuna hand rolls ($9 each), octos bravas ($14) aka Spanish-style potatoes topped with pieces of the cephalopod, as well as mussels escabeche (market price).
