Lucky Star Restaurant in Riverside (no affiliation with a place with the same name in Richmond Hill) looks kind of like a dive on the outside and the inside, but it's managed to stick around for the past 14 years as the local neighbourhood Chinese joint. Cooking up Szechuan and Cantonese fare like kung pao chicken, mapo tofu and chow mein, the weekday lunch specials and dinners for one are ridiculously cheap - they all come with at least three different items and cost less than $7.
