Crafty Ramen
Crafty Ramen is a popular ramen restaurant that was founded in Guelph by husband and wife team Jared and Miki Ferrall. The duo had attended the Yamato School of Ramen together, before returning to open their flagship in 2017.
This is the first Toronto location of the brand that's best known for its locally-influenced take on classic ramen, introducing DIY at-home ramen subscription box, and for securing funding on Dragon's Den.
The menu reflects flavours found in Ontario, featuring house-made noodles made from Ontario wheat in one of three broths (Rich, Chicken, and Vegetable), along with a variety of vegetarian and vegan options. In addition to pork-free bowls, there are snacks like the gyoza that are based on Miki's family recipe.
The flavour-packed Spicy Chicken Tantanmen, for example, is a spicy sesame ramen inspired by the flavours of Szechuan that's topped with seasoned ground chicken, baby bok choy, togarashi in a chili oil-spiked chicken broth.
