Ave Maria Latin Cafe is a new Latin eatery/grocery store straddling Koreatown and The Annex. Growing out of the Ceviche 707 container he previously ran as part of Market 707 at Skadding Court, this new spot by owner Alland Portillo occupies the former BnC Bakery Cafe . A native of Colombia and a professional chef, Portillo is selling Latin American eats and goods of all kinds: Colombian empanadas, Cuban sandwiches, Venezuelan arepas, Argentine alfajores, tamales, ceviche, queso fresco, chorizo, morcilla and more. Look out for tasty weekend specials.

As for drinks, there's authentic Colombian coffee and exotic fruit shakes with flavours like guava, soursop and passion fruit. Feel like you've been transported to South America as you admire Portillo's photographs of his homeland on the walls.
