This $2.5 million storybook home in Toronto looks like an old English cottage
Nestled on a quiet street in Etobicoke is this picture-perfect stone Tudor home. From the outside 3 Riverstone Drive looks like an old English cottage and I almost expect it to have a thatched roof.
The home, listed for $2,485,000, sits on a massive 127 by 236 foot ravine lot that overlooks the Humber River and is filled with character and warmth that you just can't find in new builds these days.
The home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and lots of the original architectural details like the leaded windows, rich wood panelling and stone fireplaces.
My favourite room in the house is the "great room" which features 20 foot ceilings with exposed wood beams and plenty of windows making the space feel bright and airy.
And while many will take to the charming character of the home there's definitely some aspects that might cause others to pause, like the fact that the home doesn't have air conditioning.
Additionally, the kitchen is in need of a remodel, as none of the appliances are integrated and everything is a bit dated.
Like the dishwasher is on wheels, which means you need to run it via that kitchen sink. If you know, you know.
The bathrooms are a time warp too.
If you're into that coloured porcelain then you'll love them but if you'd rather your entire bathroom wasn't turquoise then you're gonna have to rip out everything.
That being said the bedrooms are spacious and bright.
The backyard is great with a huge stone terrace that overlooks the river.
There's also a three car detached garage with a second storey loft that could become an in-law suite or a workshop of some sort.
So this house definitely needs a bit of TLC and some hefty renovations but the bones are good.
And if the new owners were inclined to revamp this house I'm sure it will be listed for way more than $2.5 million in the future.
