Another Toronto street is being taken over by a salsa festival this weekend
Salsa in Toronto is Canada's largest festival dedicated to celebrating Latin American culture.
This summer they are set to host yet another street festival in Toronto alongside of their longstanding, popular event series, Salsa on St. Clair.
Like its counterpart, which took over Toronto's St. Clair West neighbourhood from July 6 to 7, Salsa on Market Street will transform the streets of St Lawrence Market into a bustling dance floor.
Following in the footsteps of Salsa on St. Clair, the festival's St Lawrence Market iteration will feature music and dances from a range of Latin American countries.
The inaugural Salsa on Market Street event on June 30, focused on bachata and music from the Dominican Republic.
This Sunday, local Latin dance studio, Shum De Salsa will lead free Cuban salsa lessons from 4:00 to 4:15 p.m. and 5:00 to 5:15 p.m to the tune of renowned Ecuadorian Indigenous band, The Imbayakunas.
On August 18, the last event in this summer's Salsa on Market Street series will focus on Colombian music and salsa, with lessons from Salsa & Sabor and music by Latin Swing Orchestra.
Pull out your dancing shoes if you don't want to miss out on Salsa on Market Street's final two events this summer.
