There's a Hawaiian food and culture festival in Toronto this weekend
There's a festival in Toronto this weekend geared entirely towards celebrating the music and food of Hawaii.
While the city's been experiencing some tropical-level temperatures so far this summer, plenty of Toronto residents still find themselves dreaming of a Hawaiian getaway (at least I do).
This weekend, you'll get your chance, because Alohafest Toronto is returning for a day showcasing all the absolute best of Hawaiian culture.
Spreading the Aloha spirit across the city, Toronto's hula hālau (hula schools) and various other Polynesian organizations will put on live performances and workshops all day long, inviting you to learn more about Toronto's Polynesian community.
You'll also be able to shop island-inspired goods from artisans such as Isleita Lei Stand, Gu+Ava and You Had Me at Aloha.
All that singing and dancing is bound to work up an appetite, and if you find yourself getting peckish, you're in luck!
There will also be a selection of vendors in attendance serving up Hawaiian treats and pacific cuisine from vendors such as Liko's Hawaiian BBQ, The Night Baker and Biggies Hawaiian.
Alohafest Toronto will be taking over Mel Lastman Square from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. this Saturday, June 20.
