New Year's Day events in Toronto, 2012

Welcome to 2012! Just because it's the day after New Year's Eve, doesn't mean there's not plenty to do. Here's a round-up of events taking place on New Year's Day in Toronto.

FUNDRAISER | Polar Bear Dip 2012
There's nothing quite as invigorating as diving into freezing water when it's sub-zero outside! It's the kind of thing that will "kill you or cure you" as the old saying goes. Those who find it to be a cure are addicted to the adrenaline rush that goes down, causing the heart to beat furiously. Nature's upper, to be sure. It's an even bigger rush to know that taking a cool dip this morning will bring in some dollars for a good cause! Last year, this event brought in over $32K for Habitat for Humanity. Take the plunge!
Sunnyside Beach (1755 Lakeshore Blvd West) 10:30AM

AFTERPARTY | New Years Day Pajama Jam
There will undoubtedly be many out there who pull a reverse Dylan Thomas on New Year's Eve, and rage-on, despite the daylight. What do you do when you're leaving a house party or club the morning after and still have plenty of energy to burn? Shanghai Cowgirl has an "after afterparty" that just might work for you! Starting as early as 11am, there will be music by DJ Fathom, good eats, and no cover! You don't need to be a zombie party machine to attend, either! Well or partially-rested souls are totally welcome, and all are encouraged to attend donning their PJs.

CLUBS | New Years Day @ CZ w/ 31 DJS!
This is another bash to keep the NYE party fuel burning non-stop, but this one is for those who would like to be in complete denial that we're on a new day in the calendar! This over-the-top bash begins in the wee hours of New Year's Eve, and goes for 24 hours solid! Don't try this at home, kids! Thirty-one DJs will conspire to keep the beats pounding to fool your internal clock into thinking that time has stopped, and that you can dance forever! The lineup includes: Martin Buttrich, Flipside, Manzone & Strong, Christina Cruise, and many others. Proceed with caution!
COMFORT ZONE (480 Spadina Avenue) 4AM $75
