The Blogerati Files: 15 Seconds
This week in the Blogerati Files, Ali Karbassi's 15 Seconds
Describe your blog in 10 words or less.
Mixing culture and creativity with business...business can be/should be about fun, creativity and doing it with style...it doesn't have to be stiff - the bottom dollar shouldn't drive everything. (ok that's way more than 10 words..)
Why did you start your blog? Blogiversary?
Dec 13, 2005 -- I started it because I was sending lots of links to friends and one day one of them told me to just put it all in one place instead of spamming them. also to explore what I want to do as a second, more interesting career..
How long have you lived in Toronto?
6 years..
What's the funniest/strangest thing that has happened to you in Toronto?, Did you blog about it?
All the bad, horrible fashion statements I see on the subway every day!! I was going to start a site showing daily pix of fashion not-to-do's in this city, but that would just get me a whole lot of enemies. I don't think I've blogged about it..
What are some of the changes in Toronto that you have seen in your lifetime?
I think the city feels more raw now than it did before - it's maturing culturally and it shows..
What era, day or event in Toronto's history would you like to re-live and why?
Now! the city's changed/changing so much these days - it's cool to see that energy...reminding me a bit of when I visited berlin after the wall came down..
Who's your favourite Torontonian?
Dave Meslin -- and Tim Shore of course ;)
Has blogging changed you or enhanced a personality trait?
It's made me explore my own interests more..and catalog them for myself..
Have you had your 15 minutes yet?
No, not even my 15 seconds yet!
Lose any friends or muck something up because of a post?
Not yet - no mudslinging on this blog..
Who are your fav bloggers?
psfk
mitzubitchy
we-make-money-not-art
What's happening in Toronto right now that the rest of us should be watching?
Toronto Public Space Comittee - the city's doing lots of new things to take space back from marketers...and of course all the empanada spots in Kensington..
If your blog were a food, what food would it be?
Something that's colourful, with lots of tasters to leave you satisfied ... Tapas!
Anything else you'd like to add...
This city still needs an AUTHENTIC burrito place... we need an old, beaten-up little shack to serve us some Mission-style burritos..
