Service reductions to TTC bus routes would affect 250,000 riders
TTC general manager Gary Webster estimates that approximately 250,000 riders would be affected by a proposal to reduce service on 48 under-performing bus routes around Toronto. Although it's not entirely clear what method he used to come to such a number, Webster told the CBC's Metro Morning that "That's a lot of people. And there's a lot of people that, as I said, are going to have some significant changes in their travel patterns and some people won't be able to make some of the trips that they took."
The decision on the fate of these routes will come at the next TTC meeting, which is Wednesday, February 2nd. There are still two public meetings left (tonight and tomorrow) should you wish to express concern over the proposed service changes.
