A new poll undertaken by Ipsos Reid for Newstalk 1010 puts George Smitherman and Rob Ford in a virtual dead heat in the Toronto mayoral race. The last poll, released approximately two weeks ago had Ford with a five per cent lead over Smitherman, but it would appear that Sarah Thomson's decision to drop out and support the latter's campaign -- not to mention the increased rhetoric that the Smitherman is the only candidate with a chance to beat Ford -- has brought the two candidates pretty much even.

Despite Mayor Miller's endorsement last week, Joe Pantalone's numbers haven't significantly increased. Rocco Rossi's numbers, meanwhile, have dwindled further.
