The 2010 Canadian Barista Championship comes to Toronto
Looking to watch a little all-ages, behind-the-bar action? Well the 2010 Canadian Barista Championships will be held as part of the Canadian Coffee and Tea Show in Toronto next week, with four of the city's own competing for the prestigious top spot.
Kenneth Galbraith from The Rooster Coffeehouse, Aerin Fogel from Mercury Espresso, Sameer Mohammed from Sense Appeal CafĂŠ and Momiji Kishi from Dark Horse Coffee will be competing against each other and 11 other competitors on Sunday September 26th & Monday September 27th.
Each barista will be required to make 12 espresso drinks in just 15 minutes; four espresso, four cappuccinos, and four of their own "signature" drinks. Each will be judged on station cleanliness, taste, beverage presentation, technical skills and overall impression.
For a complete list of competitors and details on the show, check out the Canadian Coffee and Tea Show website.
