TTC passenger audit tomorrow
The first ever TTC passenger audit will take place tomorrow at subway and RT stations across the city.
The grassroots initiative has been organized with the help of TTC vice-chairman Councillor Joe Mihevc, and will involve an assessment of about 25 stations. (The original plan called for review of 69.)
Volunteers, including community groups such as the Toronto Cyclists Union and Art Starts, will fill out audit questionnaires of their nearest subway stations. The cyclists' union will assess one station's accommodation of bike-to-TTC changeover, and two arts groups will evaluate if underused space at Yorkdale and Warden stations can be used for art initiatives.
Volunteer auditors will also be assessing station cleanliness, repairs and maintenance needs. I hope someone's bringing extra pencils.
The audit will run from 11 a.m. to approximately 12:30p.m. tomorrow. More information, including the downloadable questionnaire, is available on the TTC passenger audit website.
