Sarah Thomson's campaign manager quits
Trouble in #twibbon paradise?
Wendy Stewart, the campaign manager of mayoral hopeful Sarah Thomson, quit the team Monday. Stewart had been by Thomson's side since January.
Of course, no one's giving any hints as to why Stewart left. But there is one juicy tidbit: filling in as primary spokesperson is John Tory Jr., son of our favourite not-running candidate.
Tory has been advising the Thomson team for months, but will now be taking on the role as talking head, at least until a new campaign manager is found.
As of yet, he won't comment on whether there was tension between Stewart and Thomson. "Campaign are places where there's always a lot of energy and there's always a lot of discussion and things going back and forth," he said to the Globe and Mail. "There are periods of high stress and high enjoyment and I don't think Sarah's campaign was any different from any other in that sense."
George Smitherman's campaign manager quit abruptly back in April. Maybe it's some sort of rite of passage.
