Avril Lavigne just announced a new tour and will be playing her greatest hits in Toronto
Canadian pop-rock legend Avril Lavigne just announced a new North American tour Monday morning, which will bring the Sk8er Boi singer to Toronto alongside special guests Simple Plan and All-Time Low.
Kicking off at Vancouver's Rogers Arena on May 22, 2024, the 27-date run will only make five more Canadian stops, meaning fans north of the border can bet that tickets will go fast and resales likely won't come cheap.
After a few Western U.S. dates through May and June followed by a show at Ottawa's Canadian Tire Centre on August 14, the multi-Juno Award-winning and Grammy-nominated artist — who hails from Ontario — will head to Toronto's Budweiser Stage on August 16 before hitting up Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec the following day and going south once more.
She won't be back in Canada until her final two stops in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on September 14 and Edmonton, Alberta, on September 16.
Though the star may be nearing 40 years old, given that she'll be playing singles from throughout her decades-long oeuvre and also hitting the stage with a band that accompanied her on her very first tour, audiences can expect a night jam packed with throwbacks.
(Perhaps fans will even get to witness some of her early-2000s style, made iconic with men's neckties and backwards trucker hats.)
Pre-sale for Lavigne's Greatest Hits Tour kicks off at 10 a.m. on January 24, so mark your calendars.
