Warrior Muay Thai is the place where beginners and experts go for serious and thoughtful training in martial arts.
Warrior specializes in combat sports like Muay Thai, Kickboxing and boxing. As a fitness school, Warrior has specialized strength and conditioning classes targeting speed, agility and flexibility.
At Warrior, you’ll also receive training in Brazilian and Jiu-jitsu classes designated for all levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
Warrior Muay Thai has 30 classes and 12 coaches that specialize in combat fitness. The gym offers separate programs for women, men and kids six-12 years old.
This is a place to get undoubtedly fit while learning the nuances, history and culture of combat fitness in a 2100-square-foot facility near Don Mills Road. Warrior also trains competitive athletes and equips them with the tools to compete in fitness competitions all over the world.
Owned Zubair Khan started his training at four-years-old with Tae Kwon Do. He was enrolled in martials arts as a way to help build his confidence. Now as head coach, he teaches and trains over 100 members a year.
The gym focuses on teaching exercises that work in actual combat, which may sound intimidating, but first-timers are taken through the basics to get a clear understanding of what combat training is like.
All coaches in the respective arts - Muay Thai, Boxing, BJJ - are veterans with years of international competition experience under their belts.
Warrior is outfitted with Hyabus heavy bags, Tatami grappling mats, a competition-sized boxing ring, 8-foot mirrors, and a power/squat rack equipped with dumbbells. There are plenty of punching mitts and kicking pads for larger classes.
Also of note, the Warrior Women is a rapidly expanding program that creates a space for women to train without hesitation. There are monthly and drop-in options available.
