Tribe Fitness
Tribe Fitness offers yoga, cycling and running in a modest space at the corner of Lower Spadina and Queen’s Quay. It has an extensive lineup of fitness classes throughout the day.
A gender-neutral space, yoga classes use consent cards with the words ‘yes please’ or ‘no thank you’ for hands-on adjustments during class.
The yoga offerings are wide-ranging with six types of Hatha-based classes including Power, Flow, and Restore. There are Tribe specific classes like Roll Out, a 60-minute class full of stretching using Yoga tune-up therapy balls, and your own body weight.
Yoga Remix is a relaxing 60-minute Vinyasa flow where you’re taken through a guided yoga sequence before adding your own style and flow based on your mental and physical needs for the day.
Indoor spinning classes are taught by founder Heather Gardner in a traditional style ride that accommodates 15 people. Your spin can be synced with an app that tracks stats like speed, distance, and RPMs.
If you’re into combining both modalities, the CycleCore class mixes 45-minutes of spinning with a 15-minute yoga core cool down.
A single class is $23 and valid for all cycling and yoga classes or try one-month unlimited for $199.
The studio is conveniently located near Canoe Landing park where summer yoga will take place, and a track for runners to jog along.
In the last four years, Tribe has offered 150 free workouts a year and continues to offer a free Toronto run club.
