TIFF wants you

The Toronto International Film Festival Group has started its recruitment process for volunteers for the 2007 film festival. While it's obviously impossible to guarantee that you'll end up escorting Cate Blanchett up the red carpet or share a quick how-do-you-do with Brad Pitt in the men's room, we can be at least reasonably certain that you'll receive a heartfelt round of applause before each and every film screening. Sometimes, there's even cheering.

Recruitments will be held at Roy Thomson Hall, on various dates starting July 12 and ending August 11. You need to be eighteen or older, you need to be able to work a minimum of four shifts during the festival (September 6-15), and you need to be able to attend the training session that occurs prior to the festival. A commanding personal style and an ability to take unwarranted abuse from film snobs without resorting to violence doesn't hurt either.
