Sula Paint & Peel

Toronto Gift Guide: Sula Paint & Peel nail polish

It's day number 21 of my quest to find some of the best gifts in Toronto. Today's Pick: Sula Paint and Peel nail colour. I'm a picker. I have this knack for turning a barely visible red spot into a raging zit, a minor worry into an ulcer, and an innocent hangnail into a mutilation, merely by meddling. These things are better left alone, but I'll never learn. This is probably the appeal of Sula's Paint & Peel polishes. They're meant to be picked!

Sula is a Toronto-based company with a mission - eliminating the need for chemical-laden nail polishes and smelly removers. The Paint & Peel series is a collection of hip nail shades (including "Dove", my favourite warm grey) that are removable simply by peeling. So, if my mood swings from "Champagne Coral" to "Azure" between points A and B, a quick back-seat polish swap is totally doable. For girls with fewer fashion meltdowns, a more permanent (and durable) result can be obtained by applying a Sula top coat.

Additional Specs: Available in singles, double-ended wands, or gift sets (containing nail lacquer, top coat, cuticle butter and a file)

Best for: Commitment-phobes

What they'll cost you: $10.00-$21.99

Where to get 'em: Pistachio, 2433 Yonge Street
