Itsmade on Queen

Go west young fashion hungry fans, the coolest shops on Queen West are no longer between University and Spadina. Itsmade the brainchild of Karen Friis, is a collective of Toronto designers. I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peak of the store at the opening party.

All products carried are limited edition items. It's a one stop clothing shop except for the lack of shoes. Clothing, jewellery, belts, hats and handbags are things you can find. Some of my favourite items are the Nude wrap skirts, Angry monkey tshirts by Amie Scott and the Beau Bijou long necklace. The debit machine wasn't hooked up yet, so I couldn't buy anything :(

Offerings for the men are not numerous, however Karen is actively looking for designers. If you design menswear, you might want to contact her. AKA Clothing uses recycled dress shirts and new material to create a funky look that be worn inside and outside of the office. They also make sweatshirts, hats and neckties. Men can also purchase really cute printed tshirts byOoglie.
