Great Value: Delta Chelsea Weddings


Yesterday Toronto's largest hotel put on the glitz with their annual Bridal Open House, to convince engaged couples to have their wedding at the Delta Chelsea.

Although my fiance and I booked the Chelsea last fall for our own approaching nuptials, it was brilliant to see the full display. Three rooms were beautifully decorated, demonstrating possibilities for weddings with guests numbering from 20 to 100.

To give couples an idea of possible upgrades from the standard package, the largest room also illustrated various table coverings and floral arrangements. A full-hour presentation introduced the recommended vendors to the crowd and all were available for individual discussions afterwards.

In our search, we could find nothing that came close to the wedding package offered by the Chelsea. If you're getting married, you've probably learned by now that there's a little more to the process than choosing a hall and some flowers--it's keeping the details straight that piles the stress on betrothed couples.

While a large city like Toronto does offer a wide variety of resources, it also has the drawback of offering a wide variety of resources. Sifting through the many options to find the "perfect" anything takes time and energy--a commodity which many people are already short of.

The package at the Chelsea takes care of these details, including the finer points of favours for your guests, covers for your chairs, map cards, and a seating plan, as well as the more significant considerations including an on-site florist (and an unlimited open bar).

Adam Greco, the "Director of Romance" is very knowledgeable and easily available. The Chelsea has a "yes we can" policy which is rooted in the idea that every wedding is an opportunity to advertise to each attending guest. And word of mouth spreads fast.

I've already noticed how much booking with the Chelsea has reduced my own stress and after yesterday's show I'm certain we made the right decision. I'll have to update on this after the wedding to let you know how it all turned out in the end.
