Roarockit
Roarockit is a skate shop with a twist - instead of carrying all the usual brands, general hardware, clothing and other skate related goods, they sell starter kits of customizable wood/veneers (either in the shape of a deck or otherwise) and it's up to the buyer to use them to build their very own skateboards, longboards and cruisers.
Inside the shop you can find the various boards lining up the walls in all shapes, sizes and designs. They were donated to the shop by customers who went on to build and mould their own skateboards in unique ways which is a big reason why the woodworking for each one is particular to its creator's tastes.
Pre-Shaped Deck Kits ($126 to $254) in the form of multiple layered pintail-shaped longboard deck and skate deck veneers with the necessary tools to start building your custom board for certain kits like airtight vacuum bags and air pressure pumps for freehand shaping, foam mould, sandpaper, sealing tape and more.
Pro-Builder Kits ($105 to $250) non pre-shaped longboard and skate deck veneers for more experienced woodworkers to fashion their own uniquely shaped boards out of instead of following a pre-prepared mould with all of the above mentioned building tools depending on which kit you go for.
Refill Kits ($62 to $206) are quite affordable and mostly based on the quantities and type of veneer shape decks someone is interested. Teacher Kits ($131 to $167) for class demonstrations and other similar are also available. The veneer is priced differently due to the kind of wood it is (maple/birch or bamboo).
Roarockit works closely with a TDSB alternative school program called Oasis Skateboard Factory and its participating students (using Roarockit's vacuum bag shaping system and supply of boards/other building materials) make skateboards, design artwork, sell their product, hold art shows and simply showcase their talents to the community.
