Kith Toronto
Kith Toronto now exists with a flagship Canadian store in Yorkville.
Originally established in NYC in 2011 by Ronnie Fieg, the brand began primarily as a footwear retailer.
Since then, Kith has expanded into apparel, growing into a global brand with eight flagship brick-and-mortar stores located around the world.
Carrying a selection of high-street fashion, apparel, accessories, and footwear for men, women, and kids, Kith pieces epitomize contemporary New York street fashion, blending trendiness with meticulous craftsmanship — all while maintaining casual comfort.
Think lots of high-quality sweatwear, t-shirts, and sneakers.
Each week, the brand drops fresh product from its in-house label, giving Kith enthusiasts a reason to return to the store regularly and stay updated with the latest additions.
If you spot something you love, you should act fast as there are only a limited number of each item available. Kith has a continuous flow of fresh items, but nothing in their inventory undergoes mass production, preserving a sense of exclusivity.
Kith also frequently introduces limited-edition capsule collections designed around specific themes or as part of exciting collaborations.
The Kith Toronto Flagship Capsule collection, for example, was designed to commemorate the opening of the Toronto store and draws inspiration from the city itself (it was actually designed by Fieg, too, who is now the brand's CEO and Creative Director).
As soon as you step inside the store, you'll find men's and women's apparel and accessories on the first level. Meticulous and artistic merchandising ensures that each piece takes centre stage, allowing you to appreciate the details and craftsmanship.
The first floor exudes a refinement and elegance, with an aesthetic that's defined by the predominant use of dark brown wood, green marble, and tasteful gold accents.
If you look closely, you'll find Kith's logo embellished on vegan leather wallpaper which adorns the store's various areas, including the changing rooms and elevators.Ascending the store's winding staircase leads to a grand reveal of the second floor, where the interior design is characterized by a brighter, more open ambiance, generously illuminated by expansive walls of windows that beautifully showcase the merchandise.
Here, the entire floor is devoted to footwear and children's apparel.
Given Kith CEO Ronnie Fieg's origins in the footwear industry and the brand's origins as a footwear retailer, the store appropriately emphasizes their extensive multi-brand footwear collection on this floor.
Within the gallery of footwear, we discovered the exclusive Kith New Balance 1700s. These limited-edition shoes were created through a collaborative effort between the two brands to commemorate the grand opening of the Toronto store.
These sneakers, available for both men and women, come in two colourways, "Roccoco Red" and "Marshmallow," with each drawing inspiration from the city.
The Kith logo is prominently featured at the rear of the shoe, while retaining the iconic New Balance 1700 elements, including the side-panel N logos, branding on the tongue, and durable rubber outsole.
On the second level, you'll find Kith's kids section and fitting rooms to the right.
The Kith kids' collection is just as fashion-forward as their adult line, offering a range of styles suitable for every size, starting from newborns at 0—3 months old, and beyond.
It's worth noting that Kith's commitment to quality and exclusivity comes at a price. Even their most affordable kids' items are unlikely to be priced lower than $70.
The store's second level is also home to Kith Treats and Sadelle's, marking the American restaurant's debut in the Canadian food scene.
Sadelle's, an iconic NYC diner has a menu that includes items like smoked fish, chopped salad, French toast and homemade bagels.
Fieg, a self-proclaimed cereal enthusiast, first introduced dedicated cereal bar Kith Treats back in 2015, offering a menu featuring cereal-focused soft-serve treats, milkshakes, and classic cereal bowls.
I tried "The Wifey," an ice cream special named after Ronnie Fieg's wife.
This ice cream swirl features a blend of Kariot hazelnut cream cereal and a Nutella drizzle on top. The addition of cereal provides a crunch to the ice cream.
You can order ice cream specials as a milkshake or a commuter bowl.
With the commuter bowl you can select a combination of two cereals along with a choice of mix-ins, which includes treats like brownie bites, cheesecake bites, and crushed Oreos, all served with milk.
While indulging in a $200 Kith sweatshirt might not be everyone's preference, you can buy into the Kith brand experience starting for just $8 with a Kith Treats ice cream.
Kith is located at 78 Yorkville Avenue.
