Awkward 12-year-old Dawn Wiener (Heather Matarazzo) has just about every strike against her in the junior-high hierarchy. Tormented by her classmates and ignored or persecuted at home, Dawn sets herself up for a fall when she devises a plan to seduce the hunky new guitarist in her nerdy brother's high-school garage band.
