United Against Trump Town Hall
The election of Donald Trump has sent shockwaves across the globe, including here in Canada. Marginalized communities, youth and working class people are wondering what the rise of a right-wing billionaire who proudly spews racism and sexism will mean for them in the coming years.
Join us for a town-hall discussion in downtown Toronto on the rise of Donald Trump, its consequences, and how we can unite to combat Trump-style politics in Canada and elsewhere. Our aim is to draw in as many communities impacted by a Trump presidency as possible, with the hope of building a broad-based coalition to organize against Trump and right-wing populism into the future.
Date: Jan 20th, 2017
Time: 6:00-9:00pm
Location: Room LIB72 in the Ryerson Library Building 350 Victoria St
In addition to a panel of speakers, representatives of communities and organizations will be allotted time from the floor to describe the impact of Trump-style politics on them. The speakers list is being finalized and will be advertised soon.
This is a public event. In the interest of widening the discussion, your participation is encouraged!
