Town of York Historical Society & Torontos First Post Office Presents Toronto at 189
Toronto, Ontario – The Town of York Historical Society & Toronto’s First Post Office will present “Toronto at 189”, our annual commemoration of the day Toronto became a city, taking place at St. Lawrence Hall on March 6, 2023, and featuring our very special guests, broadcaster and Indigenous advocate Jesse Wente as well as Native Earth Preforming Arts.
The Town of York Historical Society & Toronto’s First Post Office is proud to bring Toronto’s 189th birthday celebration back to St. Lawrence Hall after two years of running the event virtually. “Toronto at 189” will feature the popular Old Town Silent Auction, featuring many of our favourite local businesses. In addition, we will be offering a cash bar and small plates featuring food from the vendors of St. Lawrence Market.
Tickets are available at TOs189th.eventbrite.ca and include food and drink add-on options. Doors will open promptly at 6:30pm on the night of the event. More information can also be found at TownofYork.com.
Proceeds from this event benefit the Town of York Historical Society and Toronto’s First Post Office, a museum and National Historic Site. The Town of York Historical Society researches, interprets, and promotes the history of the Town of York and early Toronto, and fosters the preservation of the Town of York’s surviving built environment.
