Toronto Spring Festival formerly known as JikJik is an annual multidisciplinary arts and culture festival that brings people together to celebrate the coming of spring.

Join us to re-imagine the iconic building of 192 Spadina Avenue through an immersive celebration of art and culture. The festival planning is well under way and we can’t wait to tell you all about it!

The festival is all ages and always FREE for Kids under 12. Online Early Bird Daypass is $12.

ABOUT US

We have come together because we share a common desire to inspire change, to reimagine what tradition is, thereby enabling revision for the past and inclusion for the future. What started off as a gathering of a small group of friends that were uninspired by Nowruz (Iranian New Year) events in Toronto, has transformed into an event which attracts thousands of people. This independent festival has become a place to experiment, reimagine Nowruz, celebrate the changing season, make new friends, create cross-cultural dialogue and inspire hope in our community.

Since our inception in 2014, we have provided a creative platform for 80+ local and international artists and makers, engaged 4000+ visitors and attracted 150 volunteers with 90,000+ unique online impressions.

PROGRAMS:

>>SPRING BOUTIQUE

Greet spring with essentials; a curated boutique of stories, design objects and experiences that equip you for the arrival of spring. Get in touch if you think you’ve got some essentials to offer.

>>IMMERSIVE ART INSTALLATIONS

Imaginative, playful, unconventional. Each year, the festival works with local and international artists across a broad range of creative practices to push boundaries, challenge conventions and explore new ways of engaging with the arrival of spring.

We are looking for projects to transform one of the three feature rooms, or adventitious niches or even the adjacent alleyway outside of the venue. If possible, candidates should visit the site to explore the interior and other spaces in the vicinity of the venue.

>>MUSIC PERFORMANCES

Consolidating the festival's reputation for cutting-edge musical journey, the A//V program will enrapture our visitors with light and dance tunes all night long.

>>KIDS // YOUTH

Calling all little and young artists to submit drawings to be a part of our new children and kids exhibition program. Stay tuned for the call for submissions.
