To Remain Silent Magazine Launch & Live Podcast
We are pleased to announce that in partnership with Lululemon, we will be hosting a multi-modal artistic experience and live podcast to launch Toronto’s hottest magazine export. The event will take place in the heart of the city, Lululemon Queen Street, on December 18, 2019, from 7-10 pm.
Our previous experiences welcomed hundreds of guests floating through nights of artistic bliss. The current event centers around our most personal and provocative topic yet.
To Remain Silent, our new magazine and theme of the event, invites readers to explore the collision between space and sound, between the choice of remaining and revolting. In the magazine, Shantell Martin, one of New York’s most prominent artists, talks to us about what it takes to stay in control in a world that can often feel deafening, and Theo Gould, one of London’s emerging creatives, uses the power of photography to create an ethnography of silence through the eyes of his subjects.
We’ll be exploring and recording our reflections in the form of a panel, addressing the question of what it means to feel lonely or unrelatable, using the definitions from the Glossary of Loneliness as the foundation of the discussion.
The rest of the evening will be part-magazine launch party, part-immersive art experience. There will be stations set up around the space with live painting and images associated with particular definitions, and we will invite visitors to express what that definition means to them either visually, through conversation, or quiet contemplation of the art on display. We have music curated for the event, as well as refreshments. There is no better place to usher in the winter than in celebration of progressive thought, beauty, and community.
Space is limited so grab a free ticket here to ensure a spot.
