The True North: A Canadian Celebration

In a tribute to our name and to Canadian culture, the Canadian Men's Chorus presents an exciting concert of entirely Canadian music for men's voices, showcasing several premiere performances of brand new works.

Travel across the country as the Chorus explores an exciting array of repertoire from traditional favourites and folk songs, including Red River Valley arranged by Myles Ramsay and Northwest Passage by Stan Rogers, the Inuit folk song Nukapianguaq and the French Canadian O-Yo-Yo to recent contemporary works by Mark Sirett, Patrick Murray, and Stephanie Martin.

Join us for a PRE-CONCERT CHAT at 7:40 with composers Saman Shahi from Toronto and Matthew Emery from Vancouver. We'll be premiering a number of their works that night: a trio of pieces by Shahi based on poems by Omar Khayyam and a triptych by Emery based on poems by early Canadian poet Marjorie Pickthall.

Tickets: $30 in advance; $35 at the door
