The Story of Esther - Toronto Storytelling Festival

A beautiful maiden with a secret. A foolish, fickle king. When their fairy-tale marriage flounders, the fate of an entire people is threatened. This story of intrigue, deceit, danger and desire is NSFHS Not Suitable For Hebrew School.

This 50-minute rendition of the Book of Esther is part of a day-long event, Storytelling at the Gladstone, featuring many Toronto tellers. Tickets will be for sale at the door for $20. If you already have a festival pass, admission is included.

Eden Nameri tells tales from the Bible that incorporate a mix of traditional and original midrash, along with plenty of personal perspective. She can often be heard telling stories at

Congregation Shir Libeynu. Eden studied storytelling in New York with the late Diane Wolkstein.
