The Star Wars Holiday Special - FREE Screening

Lower your expectations for The Force Awakens by watching the absolute worst thing to come from a galaxy far, far away: The Star Wars Holiday Special! *shudder*

On Sunday, Dec 6, we're going to screen this bizarre artifact from the 1970s - a 2 hour variety show programme that's tied together by the incredibly loose narrative of Chewbacca trying to get home to celebrate Life Day with his family. And what a family he has: Mala (his wife), Itchy (his father), and Lumpy (his son), who spend the first 15 minutes of the special talking to each other in their unsubtitled wookie language, making the whole thing seem like some sort of half-baked experimental art film. It also features a musical performance from Jefferson Starship, Bea Arthur as the owner of the Tatooine Cantina (?!), and what appears to be a very coked-up Carrie Fisher. If you manage to make it to the end of this atrocity, you'll be crying uncle (Owen) and praising Jar Jar Binks as an underrated character.
