The Aga Khan Museum welcomes the renowned Silk Road Ensemble, distinguished musicians and composers, for one night only to celebrate cross-cultural approaches to music. Inspired by the exchange of ideas and traditions along the historical Silk Road, cellist Yo-Yo Ma established Silkroad in 1998 to explore how the arts can advance global understanding.

A performance from the Grammy Award-winning group complements the Museum’s current exhibition, Syrian Symphony: New Compositions in Sight and Sound.

This special event features the music of: Shawn Conley (bass), Christina Courtin (violin), Sandeep Das (tabla), Mario Gotoh (violin), Kayhan Kalhor (kamancheh), Max Mandel (viola), Karen Ouzounian (cello), and Shane Shanahan (percussion).
