The Man Who Fell to Earth

Even the most casual Bowie fans know that outer space and all its surrounding orbits are a major motif in Bowie’s work (he is the Starman, after all). An obsession with faraway galaxies comes to life in Nicolas Roeg’s visual tour-de-force—a hallucinatory sci-fi stunner based on the 1963 novel, in which Bowie stars as alien Thomas Jerome Newton. Thomas arrives on Earth with one goal in mind: to bring water back to his home planet. What he stumbles into is much more complex than the goal at hand; rife with government surveillance and an unexpected romance, this film’s twists and turns make for a truly unforgettable Bowie performance.

We Can Be Heroes: A Bowie Cinematic Experience: In what would have been his 75th year, we are celebrating music legend, Starman, & culture chameleon David Bowie with a curated selection of films he starred in, soundtracked and shaped.

Tickets: $15 (Members from $10)
