Sunday May 29th, the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave), is so excited to welcome back for the first time in almost 5 years, The John Findlay Band! John Findlay is one of our very favourite musicians who have played many shows over the years at the Linsmore in a number of different bands. He also held down a monthly residency in our Blues Sunday Series for about 2 years! We are so happy to welcome back to Blues Sunday and can’t wait to hear this Juno Award Nominee’s top notch guitar work!

John Findlay: Juno-nominated guitarist & vocalist brings his red-hot brand of rhythm & blues, funk and swampy jazz to Toronto nightlife. John launched his latest project at a packed Orbit Room in 2013 featuring Canadian jazz superstars Lou Pomanti, Mark Kelso & Gordon Sheard. His latest CD ‘IN2 The Spirit’ has had major radio airplay across Canada on CBC & Jazz FM.

Findlay, a veteran of the Canadian blues & jazz scene, has played with Katrina & The Waves, Blues Brother Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Marc Jordan and Sylvia Tyson to name a few. Currently musical director for the Johnny Max Band he was nominated for a Juno in 2012 as a producer & writer in the Blues & Roots category.
