Thursday March 2nd, the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave), is really looking forward to welcoming two phenomenal, up and coming Indie bands, The Howlin’ Gales and Berner Trail! Both of these bands have been very active in the Toronto music scene, so it’s great that they will play the Linsmore’s stage! Berner Trail is an alternative rock trio who released an album back in 2021! The Howlin’ Gales are a folk/rock/blues duo from Toronto who’ve been turning heads with their energetic live shows and catchy lyricism. Formed at the start of 2022, singer/guitarist Mark Sinclair and drummer Marcelo “Johnny” Maltez tie in old folk rock lyricism with a blues rock feel. Best described as The Band meets The Black Keys, these guys have played over 75 shows in the last 8 months and have cemented themselves as one of the most active bands in the city. Some of the highlights include performances at The Horseshoe Tavern, Lee’s Palace and The Dakota Tavern (to name a few). With new music on the way, these guys are a band to look out for in 2023.
