The film boasts a stellar cast, featuring legendary actor Ian McKellen as the sharp-tongued critic Jimmy Erskine, Gemma Arterton as the beleaguered actress Nina Land, Mark Strong as the formidable editor David Brooke, and Lesley Manville as Annabel Land. They are joined by Romola Garai as Cora Wyley, Ben Barnes as Stephen Wyley, Alfred Enoch as Tom Tunner, Nikesh Patel as Ferdy Harwood, Jay Simpson as Slyfield.
The Critic, directed by Anand Tucker and written by Patrick Marber, is based on the 2015 novel Curtain Call by Anthony Quinn.
