// The Band Named Crow

Unexplained disappearances. Enchanted labrynthine forests. Mysterious cross-dimensional travellers. A man who can talk to cats. Soul-searching, love and loss... The surreal worlds of Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami inspire the compositions and improvisations of The Band Named Crow. Both delicate and driving, their performances embody the moods of Murikami's novels: Norwegian Wood, 1Q84, Kafka on the Shore, Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, After Dark, After the Quake and more.

// The Anthology Project

Inspired by Thomas Kings assertion that the truth about stories is, that thats all we are, The Anthology Project plays music in homage to novels, poems and essays that we hold dear. The Toronto-based ensemble explores themes and motifs from works by writers ranging from 18th-century essayists to 21st-cetnury TV writers, using improvisation as a vehicle for building narrative. Featuring some of Torontos finest young musicians, the ensemble draws on the traditions of jazz, folk, and funk music to explore the stories that make us who we are.
