TAP IN: How to be Creative and Marketable Writing Roles for Women

The Bechdel Bill is a Canadian initiative to encourage film industry professionals to create more meaningful acting roles for women. Pledges promise that 80% of their films will pass the Bechdel Test. Ie, should a producer have a slate of 10 films, 8 would pass the test (as described below). Join us to learn how creating content featuring women can help you be a better creator. Find out about the TAWC (Toronto Actra Women's Committee) initiatives and meet the women behind Bechdel. Be apart of the change...Be creative, write what you love, do it well, include strong female characters and yes....be marketable.

To pass the Bechdel Test your film must have:

Two women with names

Who talk to each other

About something other than a man

Join Imogen Grace, Nicky St-Martin, Amanda Jane Smith Freya Ravenbergen and Joella Chricton and let them show you how to be a part of the change.
