Sunday night jazz classics and originals with Oscar Donald at DROM Taberna
Oscar Donald has played at various venues in Toronto over the years, mainly in the genres of jazz and progressive rock. Some of his early musical influences include John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Charlie Parker, Gentle Giant, Stevie Wonder, Weather Report, and Yes, to name a few.
His Quintet’s performance at Drom Taberna will mainly include performances of jazz classics, but will also showcase some of his original music which blends the genres of pop, progressive rock, and jazz. The mixture of these genres can be complex, yet refreshing. The performance will feature lots of in-the-moment creativity and improvisation.
The band for this show consists of a group of well established and incredibly talented musicians from Toronto and the surrounding area. Be ready for a very exciting night of music from this newly formed Quintet.
