What good are Noise Bylaws or the Highway Traffic Act if they aren’t enforced?

So many of us are disturbed day and night by loud vehicles producing unnecessary vanity noise. This is a result of illegal modifications to or the anti-social driving of vehicles.

Technology is key to solving the noise problem in our cities. On December 9th, the UK company Intelligent Instruments which has pioneered “noise cameras” systems currently being used across four continents, will be in Toronto. Reuben Peckham, will share with us how technology can monitor sound levels and identify excess noise as a result of anti-social driving and send them to the screens of bylaw officers, in the office and in the field. He will also demonstrate that the company's noise cameras are correctly targeting vehicles and issuing tickets that are holding up in court.
