Sistering's Food for Thought

Food for Thought is a community advocacy event to raise awareness about food insecurity and address barriers to accessing healthy and affordable food options.

Let's come together as a community for an evening of culinary inspiration as we feature bites from six renowned women chefs:

Rossy Earle of CBC Kitchen Helpdesk and Diablo's Fuego

Miriam Echeverria of Greta Solomon's, Cheffing4Good, and Top Chef Canada Season 11

Christina Khan of La Palma and Top Chef Canada Season 11

Charlotte Langley of Langley Foods Inc. and Scout Canning

Meghan Robbins of The New Farm, and formerly Superpoint

Georgia Zimbel of George Brown Culinary Institute and Gusto 54

Each chef will be offering an appetizer comprised of affordable ingredients and will provide recipes to promote skill-building around cooking.

Educate yourself and advocate for people experiencing food insecurity. Get access to information on community fridges and gardens, food banks, and other resources to share with your community. Gain insight into Sistering’s programs, services, and advocacy efforts and learn about further ways to get involved.

Tickets are available at $70 and cover the cost of entry and an appetizer from each chef. +19.

All ticket proceeds support Sistering’s Food Outreach Program, which provides meals to women and gender-diverse people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. We will also be collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to Sistering’s kitchen at the event.

Come out and eat fantastic food from your favourite Toronto chefs and support food security and affordability!

Interested in supporting food security further? Donate directly to Sistering's kitchen by providing consistent, nutritious meals to local women & gender-diverse people on a monthly basis. www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/95386
