SHE OF THE MOUNTAINS is a beautifully rendered illustrated novel that weaves a passionate, contemporary love story with a re-imagining of Hindu mythology. Both narratives explore the complex ways that we are formed and transformed by love, and show how the process of learning to love and be loved by another can ultimatelyand sometimes painfullybring us back to our selves.
The illustrations are by Raymond Biesinger, whose work has appeared in such publications as The New Yorker and the New York Times.
Vivek Shraya is an artist working in the mediums of music, performance, literature, and film. He is a two-time Lambda Literary Award finalist.
Susan G. Cole is a writer, editor, and broadcaster, currently the books and entertainment editor at NOW Magazine. Her play A Fertile Imagination, about two lesbians trying to have a baby, has been produced seven times across Canada, and she is the editor of Outspoken, scenes and monologues from Canadian lesbian plays.
