Sanghum Film Series presents SHOLAY, 1975
Ramesh Sippy’s SHOLAY is widely celebrated as one of the greatest Hindi films of all times. A standout within the canon of Bollywood blockbusters, it inspired the distinctly Indian ‘Masala Western’ subgenre, squeezing itself somewhere in between the stylistic and narrative legacies of Sergio Leone and Akira Kurosawa.
This film has got everything, from the young and rugged Amitabh Bachchan in bell-bottomed all-denim outfits to R D Burman’s psychedelic tabla soundscape.
